The Haeolus project presents its latest public report on recent and future developments of electrolyser technology.
The report was authored by SINTEF researchers Sara Andrenacci, Yejung Choi, Yash Raka, Belma Talic and Luis Colmenares-Rausseo.
The topics covered include coupling of electrolysers with renewable energy sources, multiple electrolyser technologies (not just alkaline and PEM, but also AEM and SO), and their ability to reach the EU’s key performance indicators (KPIs) for 2023.
The KPIs are:
- Energy consumption (kWh/kg hydrogen)
- Capital Expenditure (€/W)
- Efficiency degradation (%/year)
- Flexibility (%)
- Hot and cold start times (seconds/minutes)
